Chelsea is interested in Michael Olise as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add to his attacking options this summer, despite having already signed three strikers.

Chelsea have launched a summer bid for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Following the losses of Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Christian Pulisic, Mauricio Pochettino is looking to add another attacker to his roster. Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech are poised to leave the Blues, while Joao Felix has returned to Atletico Madrid following the end of his loan term.

Pochettino is planning a move for Palace star Olise after signing Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, and Angelo to bolster his attacking options. Chelsea has bid less than £39 million for the France Under-21 international, who is said to be reduced in the project' at Stamford Bridge, according to RMC Sport.

Pochettino is a huge fan of Olise and has already spoken to him about a possible summer move. Despite having Noni Madueke, Angelo, Ziyech, and Raheem Sterling as senior right-wingers in his squad, Pochettino is ready to add another with the signing of Olise.

After Riyad Mahrez decided to join Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal, Manchester City is reportedly also interested in a transfer for Olise. After Sterling and Gabriel Jesus departed the club, City decided not to add another right-winger, with Mahrez and Bernardo Silva frequently filling that position.

However, Pep Guardiola's team has a little advantage over Chelsea because Olise is rumored to have a £35 million release clause only available to Champions League clubs. Chelsea will make Palace a higher offer for the brilliant former Reading forward because they will not be competing in the top club competition in Europe this year.

Another traditional "big-six" club has shown interest in Olise. According to the manager of Liverpool, the Frenchman was a target of Jurgen Klopp's scouting during the 2021/22 season.

The German said he spent 65 minutes watching Crystal Palace and Manchester City's 0-0 draw for "analysis purposes." Interestingly, Patrick Viera's substitution of Olise in the 65th minute at Selhurst Park made it clear to everyone in the stadium whom Klopp was talking to, especially considering Liverpool had been linked with the player in the past.

While playing for Palace under Roy Hodgson during the close of the previous campaign, the Eagles managed to finish in 11th position thanks largely to Olise's performance. He scored twice in 37 Premier League appearances and contributed 11 assists, with just Leandro Trossard, Mohamed Salah, and Kevin De Bruyne accumulating more.

To keep Olise over the summer and into the following season, Palace is eager to extend his current contract, which only has three years left. Following the expiration of his contract, Wilfried Zaha left the Seagulls, and the Ivorian is now expected to sign with Turkish club Galatasaray this summer.
