Madam Cecilia Dapaah resigned from her postion yesterday as the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources following the allegation of corruption levelled against her after she reported to the police about some huge sum of money that was stolen from her room by her househelps.
Some sources revealed that the amount of money involved was $1 million, €300,000 and some Millions that was stolen by her househelps and they are currently facing an Accra based court for some charges.
The general public got the news and have been discussing it on social media and other media platforms. The public has however been wondering why so much amount of money will be kept in one single person house.
However, the public have been calling for an investigation to be conducted into the matter to establish the truth and the source of the money.
The former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has been apprehended by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on grounds of alleged corruption and corruption-related activities.
The arrest is in connection with significant sums of money and valuable items that have been purportedly stolen from her residence of Madam Cecilia Dapaah at Abelemkpe a suberb in Accra.
Meanwhile the release from the special prosecutor has indicated that Madam Cecilia Dapaah is to assist the office of the OSP for investigation and reason she's been put under arrest now.
According to the Special Prosecutor, Madam Cecilia Dapaah will be questioned by an authorization from his office to know the truth in the matter.
The office of the special prosecutor is urging her to corporate well with their establishment to make their work more easy and efficient.
