Cecilia Dapaah, who served as the previous Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, has been detained on suspicion of being involved in corrupt activity, according to the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which has confirmed the detention.
At 11:55 GMT on 24 July 2023, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who resigned from the position of Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources on 22 July 2023, was placed under arrest by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) in respect of suspected corruption and corruption-related offences regarding large amounts of money and other valuable items reportedly stolen from her residence. "Authorised Officers of the OSP are currently questioning Ms. Dapaah," the sentence reads.

It is stated that between July 2022 and October 2022, they burglarized the residence of Madam Dapaah in Abelenkpe, Accra, and took an astonishing amount of money totaling one million dollars, three hundred thousand euros, and millions of Ghanaian cedis.
