Former Inter Milan goalkeeper Sebastien Frey said coach Simone Inzaghi was at odds with Romelu Lukau last season.
The Chelsea striker's return to Inter has now been canceled after negotiations with Juventus.
Frey told TV Play:
I learned that just before the end of the season, there was a clash between Inzaghi and Lukaku that led to a split.
I can say that there are two paths that Lukaku can take right now, Juventus and Saudi Arabia."
Meanwhile, Inter are lacking a class goalkeeper after Andre Onana joined Manchester United and released Samir Handanovic.
I think Yann Sommer would be good for Inter, while Emil Audero and Juan Musso are better suited for Fiorentina, they are not ready for a main character like Inter," added Frey. Then I will venture with Anatoliy Trubin from Shakhtar Donetsk. Whatever happens, Inter are in dire need of two goalkeepers."
