A music video that was deemed disrespectful to Islam was apologized for by Davido, a Nigerian musician, on behalf of his manager, Israel DMW, to Muslims.
The clip, which was taken from the music video for Logos Olori's song "Jaye Lo," which is by Davido's signee, had people dancing in front of a mosque.
Muslims who felt it was disrespectful to their faith harshly denounced the video.
Israel DMW said in a post on Instagram that the video had been "an entertainment that had been presented wrongly." He claimed that Davido had only intended for the video to support up-and-coming artists, and he "deeply regrets" any offense it may have caused.
After many days of protests by the Israel DMW, youths of Muslim faith in northern Nigeria. The video ignited the demonstrations, and some demonstrators damaged banners featuring Davido's image.
Israel DMW urged "love to reign" in his apologies. He claimed Davido is "a peace-loving person" and "would never do anything to intentionally offend anyone."
Davido might apologize publicly, but that is not certain. Though it is hoped that his manager's apologies will help diffuse the situation, it is nonetheless a positive move.
