Ghana' s former minister in charge of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has been trending for the past few days. The former minister has come under a barrage of attacks after it was revealed that she and her husband are in court seeking the court to retrieve monies that a house help and other accomplices stole from them. Many have questioned why a minister could have as much as a million dollars in her home at a time that many Ghanaians are wallowing in poverty.
Board chair of the Ghana Airports Company Limited and host of Metro TV' s Good Evening Ghana has lambasted the Office of the Special Prosecutor for the way they have, managed the whole issue. It can be recalled yesterday in a Rambo styled approach, the Special Prosecutor and his team stormed the home of Cecilia Dapaah to conduct a search.
While some have applauded the move saying that it showed the impartiality of the Office of the Special prosecutor, others like Paul say that the OSP went too far in letting the media join him. Paul Adom Otchere has blasted Kissi Agyebeng and questioned his mode of operation. According to him, Kissi is now beginning to go overboard by trying to act as a celebrity when his job doesn' t require that. He called on the Special Prosecutor to stop the fanfare and brazen attitude and rather work to achieve the purpose for which President Akufo- Addo appointed him.
Paul wondered why Kissi Agyebeng will call media outlets to join him storm the house of Cecilia Dapaah when it could have been done discreetly. Paul noted that the whole arrest and search was done as though the minister has been declared guilty.
" Special Prosecutor, we love you but you are not Dede Ayew. You are not Blacko, Shatta Wale or Piesie Esther. You are not DKB or Delay. You are a distinguished special prosecutor, Don' t come and be arresting people with fanfare. We don' t want to see how you do your work. Deliver the results" , Paul told Kissi Agyebeng.
