Andre Onana's agent has revealed the reason this goalkeeper joined MU instead of Chelsea and Tottenham.
On Wednesday, Onana made his United debut in a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid at NRG Stadium in Houston, just a week after signing for the club from Old Trafford.
Onana arrived from Inter for £47.2m on a five-year contract, with the option of a further year, replacing David de Gea, who left Old Trafford after 12 years as the top choice.
Although the Spaniard won the Premier League's Golden Glove award last season, he is often criticized for not being able to play at full-back - a trait that Onana is very good at.

Indeed, both Chelsea and Tottenham were interested in the former Ajax goalkeeper, but In the end Onana opted for United. Here's why.

Why did Onana choose Man Utd?
Onana was mentioned to move to United because of coach Erik ten Hag, who was a 27-year-old coach for five years at Ajax.
Onana's agent Albert Botines told CalcioMercato.it:
“It all started a few months ago. "Around April, many people asked to buy players. Tottenham asked for information, Chelsea were very interested.

“There were meetings in London and Chelsea also met Inter, but the 10 Hag number is what matters.
"We look forward to facing great coaches like Guardiola and trying to win trophies with Manchester United. We have a big desire to start.
Ten Hag is certainly pleased with Onana's first game in a United shirt. "I think he's very good, tough," Ten Hag said via the Mirror. “He made two very good saves, so he was there when the team needed him, he did his job, he integrated well with our team.

"It was the first game [against Onana] and we had a lot of work to do, defensively. As for the second goal, we didn't get close to the post and couldn't get a goal from there. .
"There are rules that we have to follow, but they come quickly in the way we incorporate them into the way we play."
