The record for the world's longest cucumber was broken by a Polish gardener with the assistance of his wife.
In the meantime, a gardener from Poland named Sebastian Suski has become the proud new owner of the world's longest cucumber. The cucumber was discovered growing in a polytunnel at Sebastian's allotment.
The previous record was set by 6.4 centimetres (2.5 inches), but Sebastian was able to tend to his remarkable patch of cucumbers and create a whopper measuring 3 feet 8.6 in, which beat it by a margin of 2.5 inches.
