The resources I needed to train goalkeepers in Ghana were withheld from me — Richard Kingson

Richard Kingson, who played goalkeeper for the Black Stars and Ghana Premier League, said that he was keen to train Ghana Premier League goalkeepers to improve their abilities but that he was rejected basic demands.

The veteran goalie asked for a van so that he could travel around Ghana to meet and coach goalkeepers from various Ghanaian clubs. He wanted to do this as efficiently as possible. Nevertheless, the Normalisation Committee, which at the time was in charge of Ghana football, did not agree with him and shot down his proposal.

According to him, goalkeepers would require time to reach their full potential. As a result, he chose to begin that process now, which would benefit the national teams in the future. He believes that this decision will help the national teams in the future.

After the first round of competition, Lawrence Ati Zigi was voted the MVP of the Swiss league.

"Staying on top of the score is a process. It is not possible to quickly acquire all of the necessary goalkeeping skills. According to what he said to Angel FM, "We have goalkeepers in the country; however, I think we lack the patience to allow them to develop through the necessary processes."

"I remember having a meeting during the time of the Normalisation Committee with Dr. Kofi Amoah, three other committee members, and the PFAG where I asked them to help me with a van so that I can tour the regions to share ideas with the trainers of the various goalkeepers and have workouts with the goalkeepers," said the former goalkeeper. "It was during that time that the Normalisation Committee was in place."

It was intended that I would go around to all of the Premier League clubs and talk about the things that I had learned throughout my time as a player.

"Being a keeper is not just about training; your personal life outside of football can also serve as a distraction. Your performance would suffer if you do not receive the appropriate training; thus, when they offer me the opportunity, I will work with these goalkeepers and exchange ideas with them," he continued.

After playing in both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups for Ghana, the custodian who competed in the Great Olympics is widely considered to be among the very finest in Ghana to have ever manned the post for the national team.

Kingson played goalkeeper for Ghana and had 93 appearances for the national team. He scored once.
