Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has a tremendous desire to represent the party at the White House, according to political analyst Jonathan Asante Otchere.
Jonathan Asante Otchere hinted that Ken Agyapong' s campaign targets the grassroots with a message that connects well with them in a recent appearance on Happy 98. 9 FM' s " Epa Hoa Daben" sociopolitical talk show with Sefah Danquah.
" Ken Agyapong' s campaign is exactly like a submarine, I can assure you of that, " He will just surface from the depths of the ocean with the currents of experienced and practical economics. If he becomes the NPP presidential candidate, he would also cause problems for the NDC Mahama team since he will never engage in traditional campaigning but always go with the unconventional, " he said.
Mr. Otchere asserts that Ken Agyapong' s unconventional campaign strategy, which is similar to that of former US President Donald Trump, may help him win the NPP' s nomination for president and result in a strong showing in the general election.
" I' ve compared him to Trump, who didn' t have the backing of the GOP establishment because they had their own nominee, and before they realized it, Trump was browbeating his way through using his street vernacular, which the average American can relate to. Not the sophisticated terminology that has let us down throughout time, " he remarked.
The political analyst noted that Ken Agyapong' s prior human rights record is the only thing that can present a difficulty for him within the NPP. However, he claimed that if Agyapong is able to go through this obstacle, he could emerge as a formidable force in the party' s presidential race.
Otchere described Agyapong' s campaign strategy as " just like a submarine, " adding that the Ghanaian politician uses a covert and calculated approach.
He said that, like Trump, Ken Agyapong is not anticipated to rely on the backing of the party leadership and will instead use his own street vernacular to appeal directly to the general public.
Otchere said that while some might write off Ken Agyapong' s chances because of his unconventional approach, such tactics have the potential to win him a sizable following and even cause problems for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by former President John Mahama.
