The Church of Pentecost, headed by Apostle Eric Nyamekye earlier this week hosted the National Development Conference. The conference saw a number of politicians grace the occasion. Among some of the dignitaries included Speaker Alban Bagbin, former President John Agyekum Kufuor and John Dramani Mahama, Chief Justice Torkonoo as well as current Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
The conference sought to bring together politicians and promote consensus among the various political parties so as to build the nation. A number of photos were taken during the event and some of these photos have got Ghanaians talking. One photo saw Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia kneeling before former President Kufuor while he greeted him.
Interestingly, John Mahama stood close by and watched from a distance. Many have reacted to this photo after controversial musician and now socio- political commentator made a post about the Photo. Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly called A Plus has asked his audience about what they felt was going through Mahama' s mind as he watched Kufuor and Bawumia interact.
Well, the responses were interesting. Whereas some felt that Bawumia is the epitome of humility and leadership, some also said he was just pretending to be honest so he gets the blessings of Kufuor. Some also asserted that Mahama was mocking Bawumia in his head. Check some of the comments.
Bawumia and Mahama are expected to lead their various political parties in the 2024 elections. However, before the 2024 elections, Bawumia has 2 hurdles to scale. Some anticipate these hurdles will be an easy win for the Vice President. Bawumia will come up against 9 others in August for the chance to be part of the final 5 that will face off in November for the final stage of electing the one who will lead the party. Despite the hurdles ahead, many within the NPP feel that Bawumia is the one formidable person that can beat John Mahama.
