Rumours that John Kumah, the representative for Ejisu, supported Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position, have been categorically denied.
Dr. Kumah absolutely debunked claims that he sided with Dr. Bawumia instead of Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen because he was worried about losing his job.
In a statement, he reaffirmed his everlasting loyalty to Mr. Kyerematen, who granted him his first political post as a political assistant from 2006 to 2008.
Dr Kumah addressed the subject on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen on Monday and allayed worries that he would lose his job as the deputy finance minister.
Instead, he explained why he agreed with Dr. Bawumia's vision, which places a strong emphasis on digitalization and youth participation in the future direction of the country.
Dr. Kumah stated his firm conviction in Dr. Bawumia's comprehension of the new reforms being implemented by the administration, which, in his opinion, makes him the best choice to guide the nation towards development.
With no ambiguity, he declared: "There is no job that I am concerned about losing. My support for Dr. Bawumia comes from his vision for the future, especially in the areas of digitalization and youth empowerment.
He added: "Dr. Bawumia's understanding of the new reforms in government tells me that he is the appropriate candidate for our country at this pivotal stage. I have faith that he can guide us towards growth and development.
Dr. Kumah emphasised the support he receives from the residents of Ejisu and expressed trust in their pride in his political efforts. He hoped they would give him another chance to continue serving them.
Dr. Kumah is unwavering in his resolve to speak out in favour of Dr. Bawumia during the election season and to put in endless effort to improve Ejisu and the entire country.
