Ghana' s former minister in charge of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has been trending for the past 1 week. The former minister has come under a barrage of attacks after it was revealed that she and her husband are in court seeking the court to retrieve monies that a house help and other accomplices stole from them. Many have questioned why a minister could have as much as a million dollars in her home at a time that many Ghanaians are wallowing in poverty.
Paul Adom Otchere, host of Metro TV' s Good Evening Ghana this week came to the defence of Cecilia Dapaah. According to Paul, there are a number of characters who need to be introduced into the narrative so Ghanaians get the clear picture as to whether Cecilia really had $1 million alongside other expensive stuff. Paul explained that Cecilia Dapaah was keeping $800, 000 worth of money belonging to her dead brother.
Paul claimed that money was to be used by her brother for a contract till his untimely demise. Paul called on Ghanaians to stop calling Cecilia a thief because they are yet to know the facts of the case at court. He called for patience as the police works to settle the issue. Well, Ama Pratt, daughter of veteran journalist, Kwesi Pratt has fired Paul Adom Otchere over his defense of the Cecilia Dapaah.
According to Ama Pratt, the managing director of Pan African Television, Paul should stop getting Ghanaians angry by defending the rot in the country. Speaking on Pan African Television' s Alhaji and Alhaji, she noted that Paul is her close friend but she will not sit down for him to keep clearing government officials who have come under scrutiny for certain wrongs.
Ama Pratt boldly called on Paul to allow the legal processes to work and stop using his shows to defend people. She asserted that such defense mechanisms only make Ghanaians angrier and bitter.
Kwesi Pratt has been one of the vociferous critics of the Akufo- Addo led government. He has on many platforms noted that the NPP will be made to pay for the corruption issues that the government has allowed to happen
