The boots worn by David Silva are composed of leather. They finally hung up this week, later than most expected and earlier than anyone desired, in a variety of hues -- blue, black, orange, yellow, and white -- but one thing remained constant. If you look closely, they appear to be from another era, back when it all started. He didn't mind if the makers did anything they wanted with the design as long as they didn't meddle with the substance. There will be no plastics, synthetics, gimmicks, or foolishness.
All that mattered was the ball's feel. The feeling. And, wow, did Silva have a good touch. That is always the case.
