For the past 2 weeks issues regarding Ghana' s former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources has been trending. Despite the minister' s resignation, many have still called for the prosecution of the former minister and MP for Bantama. Patience Botwe, a former house help of Cecilia Dapaah and 4 others are standing trial for stealing from the house of Cecilia and her husband Kufuor. Many have been wondering what the Attorney General has to say about the whole issue.

The Attorney General, Godfred Dame has made interesting comments regarding the case. He has made 2 recommendations to the Criminal Investigations Department. The advice is expected to be read in court at the next hearing. Paul Adom Otchere, host of Metro TV' s Good Evening Ghana disclosed this Tuesday evening on his show. Paul Adom Otchere mentioned that his sources within the police service were gracious to give him a head start on the advice of the Attorney General.

According to Godfred Dame, the police need to commence an investigation into the stolen $200, 000 and 300, 000 Euros so that the true owners of the amount will be revealed. Secondly, the Minister of Justice also called for an investigation into how the owners accrued those amounts. He insisted that a proper investigation will help purge the duplicity in the charges and clarify the entire case. No mention was made of the remainder of $800, 000 which adds to the 200, 000 to make it a million dollars.

Many have insisted that the Attorney General because of his association with government might be biased when it comes to his advice on what needs to be done regarding the commitment of the government to the case. The Akufo- Addo led government has come under so much criticism on issues regarding corruption. For a government that campaigned against the corruption of the previous NDC led government, many felt this government will demonstrate transparency. This hasn' t been so as the government has been hit with different scandals regarding corruption.
