Paul Adom Otchere, host of Metro TV' s Good Evening Ghana, has been trending since last week. The popular TV host has come under a barrage of criticisms for his defense of government and clearing them of all corruption related issues. Last week, Paul came out with a touchscreen analysis that cleared Cecilia Dapaah of any wrongdoing in the ongoing stolen $1 million brouhaha. Many blasted Paul for consistently defending the Akufo- Addo led government.
Well, Paul has once come into the spotlight after he lambasted an NDC MP over a new scandal that has hit the government. The latest allegation was issued by MP for North Tongu, Okudzeto Ablakwa and it is titled The Kitchen Scandal. According to Okudzeto, Gabby Otchere Darko and some others conspired to rob the nation of 187, 356, 969 cedis.
The scandal is centered on a contract referred to as the West Blue Contract, a deal started by the Mahama led government and abrogated by the NPP government. The aggrieved contractors tried to get compensation and sought legal advice from Gabby' s law firm. Okudzeto argues that this is a well hatched plan by Gabby and his friends to deliberately cancel the deal and through that win a judgment debt for themselves.
Paul in his defense noted that Okudzeto Ablakwa is just been populist and trying to emotionally blackmail the government. He referred to Okudzeto' s poster for the scandal as nothing but a Kumawood poster that seeks attention. To make matters worse, Paul referred to Okudzeto as the Diabolo of politics and called on the NDC MP to stop trying to be like an entertainment celebrity.
Paul in his defense noted that Okudzeto Ablakwa is just been populist and trying to emotionally blackmail the government. He referred to Okudzeto' s poster for the scandal as nothing but a Kumawood poster that seeks attention. Diabolo is a Ghana movie about a man who had powers to transform himself into a snake. The movie starred Bob Smith Jnr. and became one of the biggest hit movies of the nation in the 1990s.
Paul explained that instead of releasing the scandal, Okudzeto could have just written to the ministry of finance to seek further information on the whole deal instead of coming out to release a whole communique which looked like a movie script.
