Rashid Inusah, a prominent member of the Bawumia Must Win (BMW) campaign in the Ashanti Region, has declared that it is an insult to the party's regional chairman for anyone to suggest that they have been bribed to yield their votes as a proxy for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Inusah is speaking from his position as a major member of the BMW campaign in the Ashanti Region.
During an interview on Ultimate FM, Mr. Rashid stated that it would be unfair for anyone to ruin the image of the leadership of the party without any basis only because of internal politics. He explained that this would be caused by the fact that the party is fighting between itself.
On August 2, 2023, a statement was issued by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong's campaign team, in which they accused Dr. Bawumia's camp of engaging in vote-buying and other underhanded political manoeuvring.
However, in response to the charge, Mr. Rashid pointed out that they were baseless and devoid of any justification.
He made the point that any attempt to smear Dr. Bawumia's reputation or those of party executives would be unsuccessful.
"It is absolutely ridiculous how certain individuals are campaigning for the elections that are still in front of us. How is it possible for someone to accuse the chairmen of our party of taking bribes to carry out Dr. Bawumia's wishes? Are some suggesting that Chairman Wontumi will vote for Bawumia with a simple majority of 10,000 votes? What on earth could cause individuals to think that way?
"This is just an insult to these Chairmen; nobody has bribed anyone; these things must stop; it's not healthy for the party; and it must be stopped." In his words,
However, Chairman Rashid Inusah pointed out that the adoration for Bawumia extends beyond the delegates, and that this has won him the affection of the majority of Ghanaians.
Everyone adores Dr. Bawumia because he is a man of impeccable moral character. The love that is shown to him no matter where we go is a testament to the Bawumia effect on the people. His interactions with delegates.
"Isha Allah, come the 4th of November, Dr. Bawumia will be the person to lead the NPP into elections 2024, and on the 7th of January 2025, he will be sworn in as President of the Republic of Ghana," he emphasised. "Isha Allah, come the 4th of November, Dr. Bawumia will be the person to lead the NPP into elections
