Muntaka Mubarak, who represents the Asawase constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana in the House of Representatives, has stated that he is not very concerned about losing an election.

The member of parliament was giving advice to lawmakers, encouraging them to be courageous while making difficult decisions, and he made the point that certain decisions must be made regardless of threats from constituents to vote against them.

"There are some things that you simply have no choice but to do. In order to make progress towards improving the economy, it is necessary to take steps that lighten the load that is placed on the general population. During the time that you are engaging in all of these activities, there will be some who oppose you and work to undermine you. When these very same people gain power, they will act in the same manner. To put it simply, you won't be able to convince me on this front," he stated.

According to him, doing what is right may not be something that everyone enjoys, but it is something that needs to be done regardless of whether or not it will benefit the majority of people.

"When I realised that the Speaker of Parliament was going about things in the wrong way, I confronted him about it on the floor of the house," she added. People have told me that it was one of the reasons why it caused me to lose my position, but I couldn't care less about it. According to what he said with Nana Jantuah of Nhyira FM's Kuro Yi Mu Nsem show, his motivation in life is to "leave a good mark wherever I go."

He claimed that he has never been concerned about losing an election because he is fully aware of his talents.

The Member of Parliament for Asawase was quoted as saying, "I have never been afraid of losing an election, with God's help, and I know what I'm doing,"

He went on to explain that the source of his bravery was the practise he had developed of always delivering his constituents the greatest possible performance in his service to them and never falling asleep on the job.

"If the people of Asawase comment that they are sick of Muntaka, walahi, I will thank them because I am aware of what I am doing," he said. "I know what I am doing." Because I work so hard, I don't get much sleep. I give it my all, and I believe that if you give it your all every day, you won't need to worry about the outcome," he said. "I give it my all."

In the by-election that took place in 2005, he won his first election to the position of Member of Parliament for Asawase.
