At least six people have been killed and scores injured when a passenger bus and a truck collided at Nkenkensu on the Kumasi-Techiman highway.
The incident created a major gridlock on the transatlantic road for hours as the emergency crew conveyed the injured to the hospital.

Officials say the accident involved a Wa-bound VIP bus with registration number AP 1986-22 and a trailer truck with registration number BF 2315 F1 03 loaded with cereals heading towards Kumasi.
The deceased include two females and four males, according to the rescue team.
An officer with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Offinso North municipality, Mammoah Elijah, fears the death toll could rise.
"The people who made due with different levels of injury are getting treatment at the Nkenkensu Government Emergency clinic. The departed incorporate the two drivers of the vehicles. Prior there was an enormous gridlock on that stretch, so we needed to guarantee the street was cleared," Elijah told Asaase News.

In discussion with Asaase News, an enduring casualty said: "The driver made an unfair overwhelming yet let completely go while moving to his path. He was at maximum velocity, so it was absolutely impossible that he might have gotten back to his path, bringing about the abrupt impact."
Crashes are common on Ghana’s highways because of poor maintenance, disregard for traffic regulations, and bad roads. An average of six people reportedly die daily due to road accidents, according to road safety authority records.
