The widow of Cecilia Dapaah's late brother is demanding the return of $800,000 that her husband reportedly provided to the family of the former minister shortly before he passed away, according to rumours that were propagated by senior foot soldiers of the administration. The former minister of sanitation was in possession of the funds; she claims that her late mother handed them to her for the purpose of storage before she passed away. The $800,000 was among the $1 million and other valuables that were taken from the residence of the former minister of sanitation by the employees of her household.
Court proceedings have been initiated in an effort by the surviving spouse of the deceased brother of Cecilia Dapaah, who is identified as the owner of the $800,000 that was taken, to recover the money. Irene Kensah has petitioned the court to seek the legal right to take control of her late husband's holdings, and among those petitions she has included the $800,000 that was fraudulently obtained.

Paul Adom-Otchere, who has become a senior foot-soldier of the ruling government and is notorious for defending the Akufo-Addo government and its appointees on a wide range of issues, disclosed that a source close to the former minister's family has confirmed that Cecilia Dapaah's part in the stolen $1 million was only $200,000 and that the rest belonged to her late brother.
