The world is watching the events in Niger as the military junta continues to hold on to power. The West African nation earlier this week witnessed an upheaval as the military overturned the democratically elected government and replaced it with a military one. The Economic Community of West African States in response have condemned the coup in Niger. They have also sent a strong response that they are willing to send an armed group to Niger to help restore the previous government.

The Senate in Nigeria have already rejected a request from Tinubu to intervene with military force in Niger. Many feel this is an indictment on the credibility of ECOWAS. It is yet to be seen what will happen as the ultimatum given to Niger draws nigh. Well, Kwesi Pratt while speaking on Pan African Television' s Alhaji and Alhaji noted that ECOWAS is wasting her time in trying to intervene in Niger.

Kwesi Pratt questioned the moral authority Tinubu has to request for a military intervention. He explained that even Tinubu' s tenure as President of Nigeria is under threat and facing an election petition. Kwesi Pratt mentioned that ECOWAS is wrong to have made Tinubu who is not recognized as leader of ECOWAS. He challenged why ECOWAS claims to be practicing democracy and yet the citizens are wallowing in poverty.

Kwesi Pratt noted that West African leaders have failed their people and this kind of failure cannot be called democracy. Kwesi Pratt asserted that most elections in West Africa have been plagued with rigging, corruption and death. He called on African leaders to stop acting as puppets for Western colonizers.

Apparently, these comments of Kwesi Pratt have found their way into Nigeria. Many have tweeted the video of Kwesi Pratt as he addressed Tinubu and ECOWAS. Many praised him for being bold and speaking out against ECOWAS leaders. Check out some of the comments.

With the unconfirmed reports of the arrival of some Wagner troops in Niger, the stage is getting set for what many believe will be exchanges between French troops in Niger and Wagner troops for the control of Niger. It can also be recalled that Burkina Faso and Mali have declared their support for the military junta in Niger and have pledged to assist the military leaders in Niger if they are attacked.
