Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, the overlord of the Dormaa people is one of the most respected kings in the country. The ruler of Dormaa is admired by many because of his boldness and willingness to act on issues that affect the country. Interestingly, this boldness has often ended up getting him into trouble. It can be recalled that some few weeks ago, the Dormaahene aroused the anger of some government officials and communicators when he passed certain comments about the James Gyakye Quayson case.
Agyemang Badu II has called on Godfred Dame, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice to file a Nolle Prosequi in the case against James Quayson. This didn' t go down with many in government. In fact, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader even came out to remind the ruler of Dormaa that such utterances will hinder his promotion into the role of a supreme court judge.
Well, Agyemang Badu II has spoken again. This time the ruler has questioned what the country' s leaders have been using the gold and oil revenue for. Agyemang Badu II mentioned that as a nation the leaders of the country have disappointed many Ghanaians. According to him whereas Nigeria gets 51% of oil revenue for the government, Ghana receives just a paltry 17% despite the country owning the oil well.
In a video posted on the Facebook page of Abanpredease TV, the ruler of Dormaa also questioned why Ghana has been exporting so much gold and yet the roads are terrible with living conditions deplorable. Agyemang Badu II insisted that he will continue to ask the Akufo- Addo led government questions upon questions as long as certain conditions are not fixed. He charged those who continue to attack him to continue because their insults and tantrums only make him a popular ruler.
" I will continue to speak and no one can stop me. The more you speak against me, the more you will lose votes. I will continue to speak against the ills of the society till things change" , he said
According to him the more he is criticized by the government, the more the government will lose votes because many Ghanaians know that he is speaking the truth. He called on government to be sympathetic to Ghanaians and strive to improve the lives of the citizens
