Joan Laporta wants Barcelona to land the Brazilian international, but Xavi Hernandez is reluctant to sanction a move.

Neymar has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a world-record deal. Les Parisiens shocked the world by shelling out an unprecedented €222 million to secure his services. But injury woes have meant that the 31-year-old has not justified PSG's outlay to land him.

2022–23 was another injury-riddled campaign for the Brazilian international. But he contributed 35 goals in just 29 appearances, finding the back of the net 18 times while providing 17 assists. However, Neymar’s future at PSG is uncertain, with Les Parisiens ready to cash in on him. And the player has offered his services to his former club, Barcelona.

Gerard Romero has revealed that the former Santos prodigy has offered himself to Barcelona multiple times. But the Catalan club’s economic conditions might spoil the work. It has now emerged that finances might pose a problem, with Pini Zahavi suggesting the operation to re-sign him will be a loan deal.

But Xavi Hernandez has reportedly rejected the idea of securing Neymar’s services this summer. It is clear that the Brazilian international will bolster the Barcelona attack, but Xavi thinks he may distort the environment in the dressing room. So he is reluctant to sanction a move for his former teammate this summer.

However, Xavi might be in the minority at the Catalan club, with Joan Laporta pushing for a deal. The report claims that the Barcelona president is eager to oversee a loan move for the 31-year-old. But it is unclear if a deal will see the light of day if Xavi remains hesitant to land him.

Recent reports linked Neymar with several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea. But the Brazilian international does not want to move to Stamford Bridge this summer. And it will be interesting to see if he gets his desired transfer to his former club, Barcelona.
