Renowned Ghanaian Civil engineer who double as the First Ghanaian to ride a Motorcycle from Accra (Ghana) to Mauritania in the Year 1998, Mr. Akwasi Taylor has commended the 13 Ghanaian explorers who embarked on a Driving journey from Accra to London.
According to him, the decision alone positive and it marks the Capabilities of Ghana in the Sights of the Western world and must be Commended for such history but the task has only promoted them as individuals but not the Country at large in terms of Business promotion and Tourism.
Ing. Taylor who was speaking in an interview with Kingdom FM's Okogyeabour Ocran said, the Crew could have promoted Ghana better if they Used Made in Ghana Vehicles for the Journey.
It will be recalled that, Thirteen (13) Ghanaians explorers completed their 10,000-kilometers car drive from Accra, Ghana to London.
They had several stops not only fill up their tanks but to also repair their broken down vehicles.
For the Accra to London journey, the explorers deployed 5 vehicles, Lexus RX and a Ford Raptor pickup truck.
Others cars in the entourage includes a Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G-Wagon) and a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUVs.
Aftermath of this, Mr. Taylor has asserted that, the vision could have been Completed if they used Made in Ghana Cars like the KANTANKA AUTOMOBILE VEHICLES for the Other Countries including the Western world to know that, Ghana too has home made Vehicles that can run such a Long Journey and doing this will Raise the Country to a Competitive market with the Other Automobile Companies like the TOYOTA, BENZ, LEXUS etc. if indeed we want to promote Made in Ghana goods.
Touching on Tourism sector, Mr. Akwasi Taylor called on the Tourism Ministry and the Trade and industry ministry to do initiate another exploring Move to sell Ghana goods to the World.
He added that, the Explorers have taken a serious risk to complete the Journey because, during his time of using motorcycle from Accra to Mauritania, he met a lot of Obstacles on the Road including Cattle attack in the Mali enclave so, he understands what entails in such journey but, they should try using Made in Ghana Vehicles if indeed they want to promote the Country to the Business world.
