Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has achieved a significant milestone by making his first appearance on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart.
The track that earned him this recognition is "Life & Money," a collaboration with Stormzy, which debuted at the 47th position on the chart. This song serves as the flagship track on Stonebwoy's 2023 album titled "5TH Dimension."
Adding to his achievements, Stonebwoy released a remix of "Life & Money" featuring American rapper Russ in July.
These accomplishments follow closely after Stonebwoy's 17-track album, "5th Dimension," debuted at an impressive number 8 on the Billboard World Reggae Album chart earlier this year.
This achievement marks the inaugural instance of a Ghanaian album attaining such success on the reggae charts. As per Billboard's criteria, the album's ranking takes into account a blend of conventional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming (both audio and video equivalent albums).
It's worth noting that this is not the maiden occasion where Stonebwoy's creations have secured a spot on a Billboard Chart.
This marks the initial instance of a Ghanaian album achieving such a feat on the reggae charts. According to Billboard, the album's ranking is determined by a combination of factors including traditional album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming (both audio and video).
Stonebwoy's track record includes previous appearances on Billboard Charts, underscoring his consistent presence in this realm.
Back in 2017, his highly acclaimed album 'Epistles Of Mama (EOM)' earned a place on the Billboard World Album Chart, while in 2020, his single 'Nominate' secured a spot on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart.
Furthermore, in May 2023, the collaboration 'Life & Money' featuring Stormzy achieved an impressive rank at No. 14 on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart.
