Sarkodie can never be bigger than me in his life -Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale, the acclaimed Dancehall artist from Ghana, asserts that Sarkodie can never surpass him in any manner, and thus urges individuals to avoid drawing comparisons between them.

During an interview on Empire 102.7fm on August 9, Shatta Wale expressed his perspective. He stated that it's disrespectful to draw comparisons between him and Sarkodie, especially considering he had been in the music scene before Sarkodie even entered it. Despite his earlier presence, Shatta Wale believes his efforts are sometimes undermined due to Sarkodie's popularity.

Shatta Wale pointed out, "When I released 'Bandana from Ghana,' where was Sarkodie? So I possess more experience in this industry than all those individuals.

He added, "Hence, when you juxtapose me with Sarkodie, it elevates Sarkodie to an excessive level, and even when I converse with Sarkodie, he begins to perceive himself as quite significant."

"Sarkodie can never surpass Shatta Wale in his lifetime. Just like when you have children, there's a firstborn and a secondborn, you can't give the first position to the secondborn. I'm not denying Sarkodie's achievements in his musical journey. He's fulfilling his role as a musician, but don't equate me to Sarkodie," he emphasized.

Shatta Wale revealed that the act of comparing him to Sarkodie has given the two-time VGMA Artiste of the Year a sense of superiority, making him believe they stand on equal ground.

In a recent conversation on United Showbiz, sparked by the former French Ambassador's suggestion to grant certain Ghanaian artists diplomatic passports, Ola Michael, a presenter from Neat FM, hinted that individuals like Shatta Wale might complicate the implementation of such a proposal.

In response to his dissatisfaction, Shatta Wale has released a diss track aimed at Ola Michael. He states that the song is a channel for expressing his discontent at constantly being used as a negative example.

"Why didn't he opt for Samini? There were plenty of choices available, so why single out Shatta Wale as an illustration for a diplomatic passport? Let's ponder this thoroughly – is it justifiable?" he questioned.
