Kwesi Pratt is one of the celebrated journalists in the country. Indeed, he is one of the pioneer journalists who witnessed the revolutionary and coup days of the country. Kwesi is the managing editor of the Insight newspaper and considered by many as an open and candid reporter. Some within the ruling government however feel that he is more sympathetic to the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Indeed, Kwesi Pratt hasn' t hidden his distrust for the ruling government. He has blasted the government for a number of failed promises. On Wednesday, August 9, 2023 the veteran journalist celebrated his 70th birthday. The day saw a number of dignitaries and celebrities storm the event center for the ceremony.
Interestingly, Paul Adom Otchere was at the event to take some interviews of those who were present. He interviewed a number of National Democratic Congress communicators. Famous among the interviews was the one with Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC Communications Officer. Paul referred to Sammy Gyamfi as the Avatar as both of them laughed. Paul asked Sammy about how he came to know Kwesi Pratt.
Sammy spoke about how he first met Kwesi Pratt with Tony Lithur in 2009 on campus at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Sammy said he approached Kwesi and told him he wanted to be like him. Kwesi Pratt back then, told him not to think like that, but rather be a better person who will make an impact on his society. Sammy maintains that he has not forgotten those priceless words and they have been a blessing to him. Both Sammy and Paul conversed heartily unlike the posture they present when discussing political matters.
The Avatar is a 2010 movie where 1 12- year old boy must put his childhood aside and embark on a quest to restore harmony in the nations of Water, Earth and Air. It is baffling as to why Paul referred to Sammy as the Avatar. Some have guessed it to mean that Sammy as young as he is doing so much damage to the reputation of the ruling New Patriotic Party. Sammy has been one of the vociferous critics of Paul Adom Otchere for defending Cecilia Dapaah.
