Neymar is the most recent well-known player to transfer his skills to the Saudi Arabian Pro League after signing with Al Hilal.
A deal worth up to 100 million euros (£86.3 million) has brought the 31-year-old player over from Paris St. Germain.
The Brazilian attacker joins a long list of footballing greats who have left prominent European clubs for the Middle East, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, Ruben Neves, Sadio Mane, and N'Golo Kante. He spent six years at PSG, which he signed from Barcelona in 2017 for a record-breaking £200 million fee.
He leaves the Parc Des Princes with 173 wins, 118 goals, and five Ligue 1 championships.
Luis Enrique did not include Neymar in his plans and did not include him in his team for the season's first league game.
"It is always difficult to say goodbye to an amazing player like Neymar, one of the best players in the world," PSG CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi said on the club's website.
I'll always remember the day he arrived at Paris St. Germain and the contributions he made to our team and our mission during the previous six years. Neymar will always play a significant role in our history, and we enjoyed a fantastic moment.
Tuesday saw Neymar Jr. leave Paris Saint-Germain after six seasons and join Al-Hilal. The 31-year-old player joined in 2017 and was crucial to the city club's success in getting to the 2020 UEFA Champions League final.
However, as PSG began a new initiative under new manager Luis Enrique, the chapter needed to be closed and both parties had to move on. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the club president, expressed his appreciation for Neymar in a statement following the Brazilian's departure.
Al-Khelaifi remarked (via Paris Fans): "It is inevitably difficult to say goodbye to a legend of the club, which Neymar will be forever." I'll never forget the day he joined Paris Saint-Germain or the contributions he made to our team and our mission throughout the previous six years.
