The head coach of the Black Queens of Ghana, Coach is confident her side will beat Guinea in ann Olympic Games qualifier.

The women’s senior national team of Ghana will take on their counterpart from Guinea today in the first meeting of the first round of the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference on Thursday, July 13, Black Queens coach Nora Hauptle indicated her side is prepared for the encounter.

According to her, every player knows her task and the team will play to secure a win in the game today.

“We have different task given to the players. Everybody has a role, positioning, and game plan that they need to stick on. I demand my players mostly to work with cohesion, support each other and fight for each other,” Coach Nora Hauptle said.

The Black Queens coach added, “These are the tasks and they know what to do for a sure win tomorrow.”

The match between Guinea and Ghana kicks off at 16:00gmt at Stade de Generale Lansana Conte.


Black Queens coach, Nora Häuptle has said she’d rather focus on developing the strength of her side than looking at the weaknesses.


Coach Nora was addressing the press ahead of second tie between Ghana and Guinea in the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers.


“Like I said before, we are a powerhouse. I don't judge my team based on strengths and weaknesses. I think we have a lot of strengths and first of all my style is always to develop the strengths of the team”.


Coach Nora it was nice to be back home after an adventurous journey to Guinea but her side is calm and focused on the impending fixture.


“It is nice to be back home in Accra, we had a good away game facing some challenges of course on this adventurous journey to Guinea but we had a very stable Game’’


“I was very satisfied with how we brought our idea to the pitch, how we analyzeds our opponent very well and we had a good control over the game”.


“Now about our recovery, we had a long long flight after our initial flights got cancelled but in all those challenges we faced, we try to drive solutions and get back the energy so we had a good recovery session yesterday and today we do the final training”. Nora added.


“Looking forward to tomorrow to play in front of a lot of spectators and we winning the 2nd game against Guinea”


The return leg against Guinea is scheduled for a 4:00pm kickoff at the Accra Sports stadium on Tuesday July 18.
