From Alcatraz to Black Dolphin Prison, some of the world's most dangerous and notorious prisons are found in different countries across the globe. These facilities are infamous for their harsh conditions, poor treatment of inmates, and high levels of violence. But what exactly makes these prisons so dangerous.

Okay, moving on to another prison - ADX Florence, in Colorado, is often called the "Alcatraz of the Rockies." This minimal security prison is home to some of the most bad criminals in the United States, including the Unabomber and the "Shoe Bomber." Inmates at ADX Florence are isolated from the outside world and have minimal contact with other prisoners.

Gitarama Prison is notorious for its overcrowding and unpleasnt conditions. Built to house around 600 prisoners, it currently holds over 3,000. The prison is so overcrowded that inmates have to take turns sleeping on the floor, and disease is rampant. In addition, violence is common, and inmates have even been known to war.
San Pedro Prison, in La Paz, Bolivia.
San Pedro Prison is unique in that it's actually run by the inmates themselves. Prisoners have to pay for their own cells, and they must also pay for water, food, and electricity. The prison is divided into different neighborhoods, each with its own rules . Violence is common, and drugs are easily available. San Pedro Prison has been called a "microcosm of Bolivian society.

Tadmor Prison, also known as the "Palmyra Prison," is infamous for its unpleasant conditions and cruel treatment of inmates. It was originally built in the 1930s as a military barracks, but it was converted into a prison in the 1970s. Prisoners have reported being subjected to torture, beatings, and even executions. There are also reports of inmates being kept in cells without natural light or ventilation.
