GHANA EDUCATION SERVICE CONDEMNS ALLEGED ASSAULT ON SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

In the early hours today the news that broke out and was making rounds on all social media platforms was an incident that had happened at the Nkwatia Presby Senior High School between a student and Assistant Headmaster of the school.


The Assistant Headmaster got angry with the student for leaving the school premises without an exeat but the student also claimed she had an exeat before going home. This matter got heated until the Assistant Headmaster asked the student to kneel down and receive some lashes for challenging him.


The unfortunate happened as the  Assistant Headmaster couldn't lash her but ended up landing a hefty slap on the student's face  which made her partially blind. After the slap the student's face didn't look good.


The Ghana Education Service Condemns Alleged Assault On  Senior High School Student By Assistant Headmaster.


The attention of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been drawn to a disturbing picture of a student of Nkwatia Presby Senior High School who was assaulted by the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of the school.


In a press release statement which is dated 28th August, 2023 by the Head of Public Relations Unit, Cassandra Twum Ampofo. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has unequivocally condemned the actions of the Assistant Headmaster who is suppose to ensure that students and teachers operate in a safe school environment.


However, the Eastern Regional Director of Education is liasing with the school authorities and the relevant law enforcement agency to investigate the matter.


Meanwhile, the Assistant Headmaster have been asked to leave his post and duties. The student who was assaulted by the Assistant Headmaster is currently receiving medical care, treatment and counseling. 


According to Ghana Education Service (GES), they want to assure the general public of been committed to ensure a safe, sound and secure learning environment for all students across the country.
