Wendy Asiamah Addo known by the stage name Wendy Shay, is a Ghanaian singer. In March 2021, she was among the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Music by the 3Music Awards Women's Brunch.
Wendy Shay, a well-known Ghanaian musician who recently signed with Rufftown Records, was tragically engaged in a car accident last night, shocking both the entertainment business and her passionate fan base.
The event, which happened on the route between ACP and Kwabenya, left the artist startled but fortunately without injuries that were life-threatening.
The Jeep Wrangler with the license plate SHAY 21-19 had a seriously damaged front side, as seen in a video of the accident scene obtained by Graphic Showbiz.
Witnesses claim that Wendy Shay's Jeep Wrangler struck a sand-filled tipper truck that was heading in her direction after she made an effort to avoid it, causing serious damage to both cars.
In a live interview on United Showbiz, Prince Obimpeh, UTV's deputy news editor, described the incident.
"You know that the road between the ACP Junction and Kwabenya is usually clear at night, so despite the police presence, cars are frequently going at top speed," he remarked. Near the KNUST Accra Campus Junction, when I emerged from the valley, I saw a crowd of people gathered around a car. I decided to park and watch what was happening. When I looked, I noticed a woman stepping out of a vehicle. She had dreadlocks and looked similar to Wendy Shay. As I drew nearer, I thought, "Let me hurry and see," and as I could tell that Wendy Shay was there. Shay, the Wrangler she was operating had a special license plate. I promptly approached her and asked what was going on. She claimed to be unable to say much due to terrible head pain from striking her head on the dashboard.
