SHATTA WALE ACCUSES PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO'S DAUGHTER OF STADIUM BOOKING INTERFERENCE

In a recent Facebook live video, the renowned Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, made headlines by calling out a daughter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The reason behind this public outcry was an alleged interference by the president's daughter in a stadium booking, potentially setting the stage for a clash between Shatta Wale and his industry rival, Stonebwoy.

Shatta Wale's grievances stem from the accusation that officials of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the president's daughter, whose name he did not disclose, were attempting to permit Stonebwoy to host an event at the Accra Sports Stadium on the same date that Shatta Wale had scheduled his Freedom Wave Concert. The Freedom Wave Concert, slated for December 20 to 26, 2023, could be in jeopardy as the NSA, allegedly acting on the directive of the president's daughter, decided to allocate the stadium to Stonebwoy for his event on December 22, just three days before Shatta Wale's concert.

Shatta Wale voiced his concerns during the Facebook live session, emphasizing that the scheduling conflict would not allow his team adequate time to set up for the climax of his Freedom Wave Concert. He questioned the rationale behind the president's daughter's involvement in the matter, asserting that her actions lacked consideration for the logistical challenges it would pose for his event.

He went on to criticize the president's daughter, accusing her of meddling in matters she may not fully understand and urged Stonebwoy to avoid any attempts to sabotage his show or compete with him. Shatta Wale emphasized that the welfare of the Ghanaian people should take precedence over such disputes, especially in a time when many are facing hardships.

Shatta Wale's strong words in the Facebook live video captured the frustration he felt, as he urged those in positions of power to consider the well-being of the nation and its citizens before making decisions that could affect the livelihoods of artists and event organizers.

This incident has generated significant attention in Ghana's entertainment industry, highlighting the challenges faced by artists and the complexities of stadium bookings for major events. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold and whether a resolution can be reached to ensure both Shatta Wale's and Stonebwoy's events can proceed smoothly.

As this story continues to develop, it serves as a reminder of the intersection between politics and entertainment and the impact it can have on artists and their fans in Ghana.
