French authorities claim that because the iPhone 12 emits too much radiation, Apple must recall it.
The iPhone was ordered to be taken off the market by French officials who claimed it exceeded exposure limits set by the European Union for electromagnetic radiation. The business refuted the conclusions and insisted that the equipment conforms with rules.
The iPhone 12 recently failed one of two types of testing for electromagnetic radiation capable of being absorbed by the body, prompting the French government organization in charge of managing wireless communications frequencies to issue the order.
It's unknown why the phone, which was released in late 2020, failed the most recent round of testing conducted by the organization and why only that specific model did so.
The radiation levels of the iPhone 12 are still well below those that scientific studies have determined could be harmful to users, according to France's digital minister, and the testing organization admits that its results don't represent ordinary phone use.

Comparable to weaker forms of radiation like X-rays or UV light, cellphone radiation cannot directly harm DNA.
Although mobile phones have been widely used for many years, Ian Scivill, a senior scientist with experience in radiation at the U.K.'s Royal Hallamshire Hospital, said studies haven't clearly linked them to harmful health impacts including cancer, headaches, or cognitive function.
In order to reduce their exposure to cellphone radiation, experts advise using earbuds or switching to texting.
