iOS 15: How to Upgrade Your iPhone and Enjoy the New Features.

Are you ready to upgrade your iPhone to the latest and greatest version of iOS? If you are, you might be wondering what new features and improvements iOS 15 has to offer. Well, you're in luck, because in this blog post, we'll give you a rundown of the 8 best new features for your iPhone that iOS 15 brings.

1. Focus Mode

Do you get distracted by too many notifications on your iPhone? Do you wish you could silence some apps and contacts while you're working, studying, sleeping, or doing something else? With iOS 15, you can do just that with the new Focus mode. Focus mode lets you create custom profiles that filter out unwanted notifications and only allow the ones that matter to you. You can also set different home screens for each profile, so you can access the apps you need more easily. For example, you can create a Work focus that only allows calls and messages from your colleagues and shows your productivity apps on your home screen. Or you can create a Personal focus that blocks all work-related notifications and shows your social media and entertainment apps on your home screen. You can also share your focus status with others, so they know when you're busy or available.

2. FaceTime Enhancements

FaceTime is one of the most popular ways to stay in touch with your friends and family, especially during these times of social distancing. With iOS 15, FaceTime gets even better with some new enhancements that make video calls more natural and enjoyable. For instance, you can now use spatial audio to hear the voices of your callers as if they were in the same room with you. You can also use portrait mode to blur your background and make yourself stand out. You can also invite anyone to join a FaceTime call, even if they don't have an Apple device, by sending them a link that works on any web browser. And you can also share your screen, music, videos, and more with your callers using the new SharePlay feature (coming soon).

3. Live Text and Visual Look Up

Have you ever wanted to copy text from a photo or a document? Or have you ever wanted to learn more about something you see in a picture? With iOS 15, you can do both with the new Live Text and Visual Look Up features. Live Text lets you select, copy, paste, translate, or look up any text that appears in a photo or a document on your iPhone. For example, you can copy a phone number from a flyer, translate a sign from another language, or look up a word from a book. Visual Look Up lets you identify and get information about objects, animals, plants, landmarks, art, books, and more that appear in a photo on your iPhone. For example, you can identify a breed of dog, learn about a historical monument, or find out the name of an artist.

4. Safari Redesign

Safari is the default web browser on your iPhone, and with iOS 15, it gets a major redesign that makes browsing the web easier and faster. The most noticeable change is the new tab bar that moves to the bottom of the screen and adapts to the color of the website you're visiting. This makes it easier to reach with one hand and switch between tabs with a swipe. You can also access more options by tapping on the tab bar or swiping it up. Another change is the new tab groups feature that lets you organize your tabs into collections that sync across your devices. You can also customize your start page with your favorite websites, bookmarks, reading list, iCloud tabs, Siri suggestions, and more.

5. Maps Improvements

Maps is the app that helps you navigate the world on your iPhone, and with iOS 15, it gets some improvements that make it more accurate and detailed. One of the improvements is the new 3D view that shows buildings, landmarks, bridges, roads, trees, and more in realistic detail. You can also see elevation changes, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, and traffic lights on the map. Another improvement is the new immersive walking directions feature that uses augmented reality to show you where to go with arrows and labels overlaid on the camera view. You can also see nearby places of interest and transit information on the map.

6. Photos Enhancements

Photos is the app that stores and organizes all your photos and videos on your iPhone, and with iOS 15, it gets some enhancements that make it more fun and intelligent. One of the enhancements is the new Memories feature that creates personalized slideshows of your photos and videos with music, transitions, filters, and more. You can also edit and customize your memories with different styles and songs from Apple Music. Another enhancement is the new Shared with You feature that shows you photos and videos that people have sent you in Messages and other apps. You can also pin them to keep them in your library or add them to a shared album.

7. Wallet Upgrades

Wallet is the app that lets you store and use your credit cards, debit cards, loyalty cards, tickets, and more on your iPhone, and with iOS 15, it gets some upgrades that make it more versatile and secure. One of the upgrades is the ability to store your ID cards, such as your driver's license or passport, in Wallet and use them to verify your identity at airports, hotels, and other places. Another upgrade is the ability to store your car keys, house keys, hotel keys, and office keys in Wallet and use them to unlock and start your car, open your door, check in to your room, and more.

8. Notifications Summary

Notifications are the alerts that pop up on your iPhone to inform you of new messages, updates, reminders, and more. With iOS 15, you can get a better overview of your notifications with the new Notifications Summary feature. Notifications Summary lets you schedule a summary of your less important notifications to be delivered at a time that suits you, such as in the morning or in the evening. You can also choose which apps and contacts you want to include or exclude from your summary. This way, you can reduce the clutter on your lock screen and focus on the most important notifications.

These are just some of the best new features for your iPhone that iOS 15 brings. There are many more features and improvements that we didn't cover in this blog post, such as changes to Messages, Notes, Reminders, Weather, Health, Siri, and more.
