Maverick politician and contender of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries, Kennedy Ohene Adjapong has promised to give the NPP a bombshell if the party plays any tribal politics. He made this statement while addressing his followers after the Show Down Walk held at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
He touted that, H. E the Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has not been able to do quarter of what he has done for the Akans. He warned that any attempt to play tribal or religious politics will not be entertained by him.
During the Super Delegates Conference, he alleged that one of his agents was restrained from accessing the election centre. This infuriated him so much leading to his Showdown outburst which went viral on social media platforms.
Kennedy Ohene Adjapong is a businessman and Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region. He was first elected Member of Parliament in 2000 and has been able to retain his seat till date. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament. He also serves on the Judiciary Committee and Special Budget Committee of Parliament.
Sometime last year, he announced his intention to contest for the flagbearership of the NPP. He promises to use his first hundred (100) days in office as president to transform the mindset of Ghanaians. He has taken the title PHD which stands for patriotism, honesty and discipline. These are the principles he professes and upon which he will build Ghana into a great nation.
As it stands now, four candidates namely: Hon. Kennedy Ohene Adjapong, H. E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Mr. Adai Nimo are billed to contest for the presidential primaries come November 4th, 2023. However, Hon. Kennedy Adjapong and H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remains the dominant candidates.
