Thomas Partey has returned to training at Arsenal ahead of their Champions League clash with Lens on Tuesday night.
Partey was absent from the Gunners squad before the international break last month due to a groin injury he suffered before the match against Manchester United.
The injury caused him to miss the 3-1 win as well as subsequent matches against Everton, PSV, Tottenham, Brentford, and Bournemouth. Partey is now back in full training with his teammates as they prepare for their second Champions League group stage match of the season.
However, Partey is likely to return for Sunday's crucial match against title rivals Manchester City. As football.london reported last week, Partey is recovering well from a groin injury and is aiming to be fit in time for the upcoming clash with Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium on October 8.
Although it is yet to be confirmed whether Partey will be part of Arsenal's squad for France, his impending selection is a significant boost for Mikel Arteta. In other positive news for Arsenal, Bukayo Saka was also seen taking part in Monday morning's training session at London Colney.
Concerns were raised about the winger's fitness after he was injured in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend, leading to his being substituted in the second half. Saka was present at training on Monday, along with striker Gabriel Jesus, who needed treatment at the end of the win over Bournemouth.
However, there was no appearance of Gabriel Martinelli in the training session. The Brazil international has missed the last four matches in all competitions due to a hamstring problem in the 1-0 win over Everton, suggesting he could be out for another match.
There has been a lot of speculation linking the Ghanian midfielder to different clubs but it seems he is in Arteta's long term plan.
