Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has issued a stern warning to his players in the wake of their ongoing crisis, emphasizing that there's no escaping the spotlight and urging them to confront the situation head-on.

The renowned football club is grappling with its worst start to a season in 37 years, enduring five defeats in their last seven matches across various competitions. The looming prospect of a defeat against Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday could mark a historic low, as it would be the first time United loses three consecutive games at home since the distant year of 1962.

Ten Hag has made it abundantly clear to his squad that they must face the intense scrutiny that comes with representing Manchester United. He has called for a collective display of "cool heads and patience" to navigate through this challenging period. When asked about the relentless attention United receives during times of trouble, Ten Hag emphasized, "We have to deal with it. It doesn't make any sense to think about it. We have to deal with it."

He added, "It gives me more energy to fight and turn this around. I'm responsible for having the right mentality in my communication, my demands, and my standards, in what I expect from the players." Ten Hag emphasized that he gives his utmost effort every day to instill the correct mindset in his team, urging them to focus on their primary goal of becoming a formidable unit on the field.

Acknowledging the current transitional phase at the club, Ten Hag stressed, "We know we are still in transition as a club, but in the meantime, we know we have to win every game. We don't walk away from that – not this team, not these coaches, and not this manager. We have to win every game – that is the approach and will be the approach to every game. It's about patience and a cool head. We stick together and focus on what it's about – that's the way of play."

Despite his success in securing third place for United last season and breaking a six-year trophy drought with the Carabao Cup, Ten Hag acknowledged that he foresaw challenges in the current season. "I knew there would be gaps and setbacks," he admitted. "In this club, it's probably coming more, but that's understandable. As I said, focus on the thing that it is all about, and that's football, nothing else."

Regarding the fans' reaction, even amidst recent disappointing results, Ten Hag expressed confidence that the supporters remain firmly behind both him and the players. "The fans are backing us," he asserted. "The fans are behind us, that's what I feel. I'm sure these players can be mentally very strong. I have the experience from last season, where there were many games where they were mentally strong."

In the face of adversity, Erik ten Hag's message to Manchester United is clear: confront the challenges, maintain a resilient mindset, and work collectively to restore the club's winning tradition.
