BARBARIC TERRORIST ATTACKS COMMITTED REPEATEDLY AGAINST PALESTINE

Naz Shah MP Bradford West has an address from Yasmin Ali which is on the 14th October, 2023.

Naseem Shah is a British Labour Party politician. She was elected at the 2015 general election as Member of Parliament (MP) for Bradford West, winning the seat from George Galloway of the Respect Party. She has served in the Opposition frontbench since 2018, currently as Shadow Minister for Crime Reduction. She was formerly suspended from the Labour Party for antisemitic statements.

I am writing to you to express my utter disgust at the barbaric terrorist attacks we’ve seen committed repeatedly against Palestine and the Palestinian people for the past 75 years by Israel. Israel is again committing war crimes and a genocide of an entire population.

It appals me that as my MP you appear to support Israeli war crimes and terrorism and your silence condemns you.

You have not spoken out for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.

You stay silent when the government is openly restricting our freedom to protest peacefully and curtailing our right to free speech.

The UK makes it a criminal offence to support Hamas who are Palestinian and elected representatives of the Palestinian people. The UK government’s close relationship with the Israeli Lobby is against British interests and this politically motivated decision is not shared by the International Community with whom we trade. Indeed, the UK position contradicts the position of the UN.

In 1982, UNGA Resolution 37/43 affirmed the legitimacy of the struggle for independence, territorial integrity, national unity, and liberation from foreign domination and foreign occupation by all available means, including armed struggle. This resolution openly recognized the right of an occupied people to use force against foreign illegal occupation. The Palestinian people have every right to use force against Israeli occupation including armed struggle.

The Geneva Conventions are very clear on conduct in war  although ‘war’ is a questionable term given the very clear asymmetry here between the Israeli aggressors (the Occupiers) and the Palestinians. In war, civilians must not be attacked and the impact on women and children must be limited. Israel is doing the very opposite. Basic amenities of food, water and electricity have been cut off. Hospitals, universities and schools bombed. These are clear war crimes. As for limiting the impact of war on children, there are 1 million children in Gaza. Israel has up to date killed over 500 Palestinian children.

As my MP I want you to make a clear public statement of your position on these war crimes being committed by Israel. As your constituent, I have every right to know if you will speak out against Israeli terrorism, whether you affirm and uphold International Law, the Palestine’s right to resist and whether you intend to hold the UK government to account for being complicit in Israeli war crimes.

If you do not do this, I am making it very clear to you that I will be withdrawing my support and will be actively campaigning against you given your complicity in the massacre of the Palestinian people.
