JESUS A FRIEND TO SINNERS
“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” –Luke 5:32
In Luke chapter 5, we witness a stunning scene: Jesus shared a meal with tax collectors, some of the most resented people in His day. When you read the Bible for yourself, specifically the Gospels, you will find that Jesus often did what was counter-cultural. Not only did Jesus enter a tax collector’s house, a huge step of acceptance; not only did Jesus sit and share a meal with tax collectors, a symbol of deep intimacy and friendship; Jesus went so far to pursue and call Levi, a sinful tax collector, and invite Him to join Him in God’s kingdom work
MATTHEW 11:19 19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified for her children.
Due to His friendship with sinners, Jesus got on the wrong side of the religious authorities of His time. The same Jesus exists now. He has never changed. Christ is your ally.
LUKE 19:7 7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
Religious people were unable to comprehend Jesus' ability to love a sinner because they most surely did not. However, Jesus did and still does.
JOHN 8:11 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Jesus understands the stress you're under. He is aware of the suffering. Jesus is concerned. Because He understands that sin will ruin you, He is concerned enough to help you out of the sin.
Sin may provide momentary pleasure, but it always leads to destruction in the end. Jesus cares deeply about you and does not wish you to be ruined.
Jesus therefore resists sin because He loves you.
SAY THIS: My friend is Jesus, he will save me despite my standing with Him.
May God increase and Bless you
Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV
“The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.”
Receive speed in Jesus' Name Amen
