Aba Dope disowns his father since he is no longer my father and never provided for me.
Social media influencer Aba Dope recently shared her childhood memories while discussing her complicated family background and her choice to disown her biological father.
On October 14, 2023, she revealed this during an interview on The Delay Show.
Aba Dope said that while her biological father, whose identity she would not divulge, was noticeably missing from her youth, her stepfather, Bannerman Martin, played a big part in her upbringing.
She revealed that he is a twin and runs a bakery and shop in Takoradi where he sells bread and cocoa drinks. When she walked by his store on the way to school, she recalled getting treats from him when she was a child.
Her relationship with her biological father, however, changed when he revealed his identity to her and mentioned their prominent physical similarity in being hairy.
The statement made by Aba Dope that she didn't know he was her father at first till he revealed it was true was corroborated by her mother. Despite the fact that her real father is still alive, she made it clear that she no longer views him as her father because he didn't provide for or care for her during her upbringing.
During the conversation, Aba Dope's decision to bleach her complexion was also covered. She emphasized the naturally fair skin of her mother and the same fairness of two of her siblings. Her biological father and her other sibling, however, had darker skin tones.
Aba Dope said that during her time in senior high school (SHS), her teacher disqualified her from a beauty pageant competition on the grounds that she wasn't attractive enough. She decided to bleach her skin after this incident in an effort to look better.
She also blamed her darker skin tone on regular sun exposure while she was hawking and playing football in high school, which made her feel unattractive and unhappy with how she looked.
