THE PRESIDENT'S SPEECH TO THE PEOPLE OF VOLTA REGION.

It was since last week that the people of the Volta region started suffering from the Akosombo dam spillage. This exercise has rendered a lot of people homeless.

In the course of sympathizing with the people of the Volta region, the President gave them a visit and he offered some few speech to give them an assurance of his support to be able to withstand the disaster. The president further offered a statement which no one was expecting at this particular time if sorrowful state.

The president said, in his speech " *I came here because Ghanaians are having difficulties and suffering, it is my responsibility to try and help because if it is a question of counting who votes for me and who doesn't vote for me, I shouldn't have been here because you don't vote for me".*

It was all out of sincerity though, but the people of the Volta region did not expect such a comment from the President at such crucial moment of their lives.

The people of the Volta region needed support and are in a state where thousands have lost their homes, farms and business that they do to support their families. And for such reasons, they need support from the government and from all other personalities that can afford to help, but not such a comment from the President.

Sincerely, the President's speech have rendered most of the people of the Volta region hopeless, but we hope and prayed that the people of the Volta region will get the necessary assistance from the government as soon as possible in order to be able to pass through this crucial moment successfully.

We hope that disaster will not bring frustration  but rather, build each and everyone involved in this, strong.

Long live Volta, long live Ghana!!!
