" Voltarians are not from Ghana they are from Togo, so they should go and seek help from them". That's the disheartening comments coming from some people on the social media and I personally, will say this comments can only come from someone who is very ignorant.
Something happened and a lot of people have been affected badly and all you could say is, go and seek help from Togo because you're not from Ghana. Meanwhile, what is happening is not even a normal natural disaster but rather a decision by the state.
One should be able to see it from this perspective that *the people of the Volta region are paying a very huge price so that Ghanaians can have light*. Because if that is not done it may affect the hydroelectric power. So for this reason a lot of people have become homeless, people's businesses were gone, shops, provision stores were all gone just for Ghana to have light.
I am not shocked about such comments because even some prominent members of the ruling party have also said a lot already, including the President himself.
How could someone just stood up and offer such a statement, " go and seek help from the NDC and don't disturb the President because you don't vote for us". This kind of statement is out of total selfishness! Such people are not supposed to be leaders.
But one thing that I want us to realize is that, *the people of the Volta region are paying a very huge price for us to have light.*
One could imagine, a whole community with children, the aged, pregnant women, the sick and all kinds of people loosing their homes, businesses and properties, if it were to be you how will you cope? It is very difficult.... Those people are now facing two folds of hardships now. No shelter, no food! It's a pity..
I am urging all Ghanaians to show empathy in whatever way to encourage this hopeless ones in whatever they may be facing now. The people of VOLTA needs our support not comments that will break their hearts.
