As a nation, have we given any thought to the structural vulnerabilities of the buildings that the floods have already destroyed? Before the water recedes, some of these buildings will crack, crumble, and collapse. Many more will deteriorate and pose a risk to those who decide to reoccupy it.

Have we as a nation considered the structural weaknesses of the buildings that have already been submerged in the floods? Some of these buildings will break, crack, and fall before the water recedes. Many more will become weak and serve as a threat to those who reinhabit it.

The majority of these buildings will need to be demolished or lifted because of the water's weakening effect.
Health risks: Mould growth and the spread of waterborne illnesses are just two of the health risks that flooding can bring about.
