There have been names of famous drug lords who rose from nothing to heroes in the drug fraternity, examples of such individuals include Pablo Escobar, El Chapo, Joaquin Guzman, and the popular Fabio Ochoa. Fabio Ochoa is known as the true king of cocaine in Columbia. Below is a brief backstory of the famous drug lord who started his drug operations in the late 70s.
Known as Don Fabio, Fabio owned ranches all through Medellín, as well as horses. Fabio built his wealth legitimately in the beginning, but the cocaine business propelled him to bigger heights. Fabio also owned a restaurant which remained in the family, before divulging into Cocaine in the 70’s. The Ochoa family became one of the most powerful within the Medellín Cartel, and Don Fabio became the most feared man in Colombia.
One day when getting interviewed in 1988 by an American journalist, Fabio had an interpreter with him. The interpreter was doing a subpar job and Fabio got upset, which led the interpreter to become so scared that they had to pause the interview because he was afraid to speak again.
There was a time when Fabio and the Pope were standing next to each other in public conversing, the people in the crowd asked who was the man in white standing next to Fabio Ochoa.
Don Fabio’s net worth was in the billions, so much that it hasn’t been properly accounted for; and he never did a day in prison. Fabio died a peaceful death in Medellín back in 2002.
Fabio ran his drug Farrell with his brothers and they were collectively called the Ochoa brothers. Jorge, Juan David, & Fabio Ochoa were primary members of the dangerous Medellín Cartel during the later years of the 1980s. The brothers were notorious for their cooperation in manufacturing, distributing, & marketing cocaine.
