From 1883 Maybach was related with Gottlieb Daimler in creating proficient gas powered motors; their most memorable significant item, a generally light four-phase motor, was protected in 1885. In 1890 Daimler and Maybach framed the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, in Cannstatt, to produce cars; from 1895 Maybach was the association's specialized chief.
