With a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, Premier League leaders Tottenham passed their most recent test, and Ange Postecoglou did not want supporters to give up on their hopes of winning the championship.

Spurs, who have come back from behind eight times this season, went five points ahead at the top of the table after scoring twice in a short period of time at Selhurst Park.

Joel Ward's own goal in the 53rd minute broke the scoreless draw. He deflected James Maddison's cross past Sam Johnstone, the goalkeeper for Crystal Palace, and Son Heung-min, the captain of Tottenham, scored following Brennan Johnson's assist to make it 2-0 shortly after.

Jordan Ayew cut the Palace lead in the fourth minute of stoppage time, but Spurs held on to make it ten games without a loss in the top division. They are now five points ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal, who play Sheffield United and Manchester United, respectively, this weekend.

Permit them to dream. That is the main goal of being a football fan. I'm definitely not going to take away from the fact that this group has suffered a great deal, Postecoglou said.

"The top of the table and the outcomes are fantastic, but what matters more is how we're doing it. We've faced a wide range of obstacles to conquer almost since the beginning of the game.

Every time, the group as a whole has shown a genuine focus and level of composure in handling it.

"It has been a really satisfying experience, and since they are reaping the benefits, it allows us to expedite the process of providing them with additional resources to aid them in overcoming obstacles."

"I anticipated that tonight's game would be quite challenging for us. Coming here, considering Palace's performance the previous week, it's a tight field; they had only let up three goals in their previous four games. How would the boys handle the reality that we wouldn't be creating as many opportunities as we had been?

"I thought it was great how we handled that. Guglielmo Vicario made some excellent early stops to deny Ayew and Odsonne Edouard as Spurs toiled in the first half at Selhurst Park, but they eventually prevailed 2-0 over Fulham to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League.

After criticizing his team's performance in the second half earlier in the week, Postecoglou substituted Emerson Royal for Ben Davies at halftime, and Ward scored the first goal after putting Maddison's cross into his own net.

After a deft ball from Johnson—his first assist since a £45 million deadline-day signing from Nottingham Forest—Son scored his ninth goal of the season to make it 2-0.
