Asamoah Gyan is a Ghanaian professional footballer who has built quite a reputation for himself due to his impressive career in the sport. Born on November 22, 1985, in Accra, Ghana, Asamoah Gyan showed his early potential in football by scoring two crucial goals for his team at the age of 16, which earned him a place in Ghana's U-20 team.


His career in football started with the Ghanaian Premier League club Liberty Professionals, where he made his debut in 2003. He quickly established himself as a prolific goal scorer, scoring 10 goals in 16 games for his team. His impressive performance in his debut season earned him a transfer to Italian Serie A club Udinese.


His time at Udinese was not as successful as he hoped, but he still managed to put in some impressive performances for the club. After spending just one season with Udinese, he moved to French club Stade Rennais on loan, where he scored an impressive nine goals in .


Due to his impressive goal-scoring record at Rennais, he was signed by English Premier League Club Sunderland in 2010, where he quickly became a fan favorite for his work-rate, dedication, and goal scoring antics. He was the club's top goalscorer in his debut season, scoring a total of 11 goals in 37 appearances.


After spending three seasons with Sunderland, Asamoah Gyan moved to UAE Pro League club Al Ain on loan. It was here that he started to make a name for himself as a prolific goal scorer. He scored an impressive 73 goals in 65 appearances for Al Ain, becoming the club's all-time top scorer in the process.


In 2014, Asamoah Gyan was named one of the 100 most influential Africans by New African Magazine. He remains one of Ghana's greatest footballers of all time, with a record 51 international goals, making him Ghana's all-time top scorer.
