Addressing West Ham's true media channel after the game, Moyes commended his offseason securing for the strike.

"Mo (Mohammed Kudus) scored an incredible objective. It's a beautiful pass from Nayef and an extraordinary touch and finish from Mo. Mo is on several objectives and Jarrod has been getting objectives as well. We have a couple of objectives this evening."

With the victory, West Ham snapped three-game losing streak and set up another London derby, this time against Brentford.

On the same day that he was nominated for the 2023 CAF Men's Footballer of the Year Award, Kudus scored his third goal for West Ham.
