Babdaman Islamic School Gets Desktop Computers From Their DCE.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Banda in the Bono region, Hon. Akone Emmanuel has presented 10 desktop computers, a projector and 2 ceiling fans to the Bandaman Islamic School at Banda Kanka Saase, a suburb of Banda Ahenkro.
The gesture was to enhance teaching and learning of ICT at the school and formed part of Hawawu Omoro, a 14 year old girl who emerged as the overall best student in the 2022 Bono regional Girls In ICT (GIICT) program organized in Sunyani for one thousand (1000) female students where nothing menaced her to emerged the first position.
The District Chief Executive in his exaltation fraternized with the district assembly to fend the students to exhibit their God given talents for the district and the nation's development by renovates them with ICT laboratory.
According to the DCE, the Girls in ICT seeks to introduce girls and young women to ICT, expose them to opportunities existing in the ICT sector, inspire and embrace them to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), raise awareness and ultimately get them to pursue careers in these fields of modern technology, as the whole world migrates to increased use of digital platforms.
In an exclusive interview with Appiah-Kubi, Hon. Akone lauded the 14 year old girl for exploiting her extant talent and urged her and the other students to exhibit their career choosing to be certain.
"I'm impressed by the performance of the young girl, and I glee to accept the fact she is from Banda district and there are many children that have talents in the district that haven't been shown, and I will make sure to have an exigency to the talented kids", the DCE expressed.
"The computers had come at a time where knowledge in ICT has become important, I therefore entreat every parent to be circumspect on their ward's hobbies to embrace their talents", he added.
The Banda district Education Director, Mr. Michael Anbruse Enin was optimistic that the computers presented to the school will further enhance the teaching and learning of ICT in the school.
He therefore expressed his profound gratitude to the DCE for his tireless efforts to resolve challenges of the schools in the district.
Mr. Michael thanked the DCE for reviving the ICT Lab in the Bandaman Islamic School which was lacking computers, and thus, advised the school to keep the computers and the other items in good shape to continuously serve its intended purpose.
The students, including the present parents were in gaiety to see the computers and for their girl's emergence.
